COMCO CIPR

Asia is the largest and most populous continent in the world, with incredibly diverse cultures, beliefs, and experiences. With changes in the region brought about by the pandemic, technological advancement, and the everchanging political climate, how can communications professionals navigate the vast and dynamic markets in Asia as massive paradigm shifts are taking over?

Powerhouse and global award winning communications group COMCO Mundo League of Enterprises sought to answer this question as it led the “Doing PR in Asia” webinar organized by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR). The recent webinar was facilitated by COMCO Mundo League of Enterprises’ Group Chief Executive Director and Lead Strategic Communications Counsel / Partner and Co-Founder and CIPR International Committee member Ferdinand L. Bondoy, with guest speakers and members of CIPR sharing their knowledge and expertise on practicing PR in Asia.

Southeast Asia head of Telum Media, Haikel Fahim, began the program with a talk on the Asian media and PR landscape, discussing the different nuances and preferences of each country when it comes to engaging with media. This was followed by a question-and-answer segment with the Brand and Communications Head of BNP-Paribas, Anjali Patil, about best practices in the region, diversity, and sustainability awareness. Then, members of the CIPR International Committee–Derek Chung from social media agency Cubaka, Nishika Bajaj from PR and publishing company Perpetual Motion Ltd., and Ferdinand L. Bondoy from COMCO Mundo–shared their short responses and held a panel discussion with the speakers to delve deeper into the topics explored. The program closed with a short thank you message from Hotwire PRC General Manager and Lead Consultant and CIPR International Committee Secretary Taazima Kala-Essack.

Through this and the group’s regional work and activities through its network of affiliates in Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Africa and other parts of the world, as well as and its involvement in various inter-regional industry groups and organizations, COMCO Mundo League of Enterprises champions borderless collaboration for the advancement of the profession and impactful contribution to social change.

“We are extremely honored to be part of CIPR and to have had the chance to lead this webinar that looks into the nuances of practicing PR in Asia. As the continent continues to be an exciting region for communications professionals, we look forward to learning more about its diverse culture and media landscape so we can effectively reach communities to tell meaningful stories, not only in the Philippines, but around the world,” said Mr. Bondoy.
