Climate change is one of the most pressing threats facing our planet. With climate impacts harming ecosystems and human health, aggravating extreme weather, and weakening agriculture and food security, how can communications professionals navigate the challenges of communicating a complex issue such as the climate crisis?

Global award-winning communications group COMCO Mundo League of Enterprises sought to answer this question as it joined the “Communicating Climate Change” webinar, organized by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) International. The event was moderated by Klao Bell-Lewis, a communications and project management specialist and a member of the CIPR International Committee.

Joining the panel of experts was COMCO Mundo League of Enterprises’ Group President & CEO and Head of Global & Strategic Communications / Partner & Co-Founder and CIPR International Committee member Ferdinand L. Bondoy, Associate Professor of Environmental Sciences at Emory University – USA Dr. Stacy-ann Robinson, and  sustainability strategy, communication, and Head of Brookfield Sustainability Institute Office of Research and Innovation – Canada Dr. Tyrone Hall, who fielded questions about climate change messaging, climate action, and what we can do as communicators to help improve the way that climate is discussed in the public sphere.

Through its involvement in various inter-regional industry groups and organizations, and its Citizen COMCO Advocacy Program, COMCO Mundo League of Enterprises champions borderless collaboration for the advancement of the profession and impactful contribution to social change.

“As communicators, we just need to be clear which sector we are targeting and push for the right calls-to-action to drive climate action—whether for the government to enact policy, for the private sector to integrate sustainability into their operations, for organizations to demand accountability, and for individuals to live more sustainably,” said Mr. Bondoy.
