As part of its pursuit to ignite social change, COMCO Mundo League of Enterprises has furthered its commitment to social good through the years by supporting various causes with its advocacy arm, the Citizen COMCO Advocacy Program. Through corporate social responsibility (CSR), advocacy communications, cause related marketing, development communications, and community relations projects,Citizen COMCO has championed advocacy work for children, youth and education; wildlife and environment; heritage and culture; social enterprise; and the Southeast Asian integration.
Now on its 8th year, what started out as a service provided by the company for non-government organizations (NGOs) and brands’s CSR programs, has turned into a full-time mission carried out by the company, its employees and the Alumni Society of the Agency’s Camp COMCO Mentorship Program, as they work towards furthering the social good and spreading awareness about the advocacies COMCO Mundo champions.
Citizen COMCO has worked closely with several reputable local and national NGOs such as WWF for Earth Hour, Art Heart Earth Exhibit, Ayoko Ng Plastik Campaign, and Together Possible; World Vision for its 60th Anniversary, 2000 Children and 1000 Hours, the Social Innovation Challenge and One Voice for Children Concert; Called to Rescue for #YOUareCalledToRescue Immersion Activity; United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) for its State of World Population Report, Anti-Gender Based Violence Campaign and Here for Her Campaign; Unilab Foundation for Play Advocacy Week and the Filipino Family Wellbeing Virtiual Conference; Best Alternatives for #DefendDory; and many more like Make-A-Wish Foundation, PAWS (Philippine Animal Welfare Society), Philippine Eagle Foundation, Save The Children, SOS Children’s Villages, Gawad Kalinga, Humanility, CARA (Compassion and Responsibility for Animals) Welfare Philippines, and the World Health Organization.
COMCO Mundo has also worked with brands such as airasia for the See The World campaign; Lamoiyan Corporation’s Licealiz Head Lice Treatment Shampoo for Kilusang Kontra Kuto (KKK); and Century Tuna for the Saving Our Seas initiative. The agency also leads its own yearly outreach activity, COMCOlidays with Kids, to bring joy to vulnerable children in alternative care during the holiday season, which it has done in partnership with organizations like Little Angels Home, Inc., SOS Children’s Villages, and Precious Heritage Children’s Home.
Outside of its work with NGOs and brands, the group has organized activities such as raising funds with the Camp COMCO Alumni Society to prepare food for Philippine General Hospital (PGH) workers during the pandemic, donating cat and dog food to the Happy Alpha Project for animals that were displaced during the Taal volcanic eruption in 2020, providing financial assistance to the #CagayanNeedsHelp relief drive by Bloggers of Tuguegarao that aimed to help Cagayanos affected by typhoon Ulysses, and organizing an internal fundraising project for victims of the earthquake in Mindanao, wherein the company doubled the total amount raised and donated it to GMA Kapuso Foundation.
Most recently, through the UNMASKED: Write to Ignite Initiative Season 3, the agency was able to donate to selected organizations by the top five winners, which are Make-A-Wish Foundation, PAWS, Philippine Eagle Foundation, Save the Children, and SOS Children’s. Previous seasons of the Write to Ignite Initiative were also able to make donations to NGOs like World Vision, WWF, Gawad Kalinga and Humanility.
While Citizen COMCO has been at the forefront of advocacy and development work since its inception, the agency strengthens its commitment to continue supporting vulnerable people and communities in need. “We are thrilled to amplify the voices of these advocacies that we hold dear. It’s an honor and a responsibility to be able to work with different organizations and support their efforts to help advance these crucial causes, and we look forward to continuing Citizen COMCO with more fruitful and exciting collaborations to come,” said Ferdinand L. Bondoy, COMCO Mundo League of Enterprises Group Chief Executive Director and Lead Strategic Communications Counsel / Partner and Co-Founder.
